Serving Those Who Served ConferencE
I had an awesome time supporting the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs at the 9th Annual Serving Those Who Served Conference in Wenatchee!
The theme of this year’s conference was “Save and Transform Lives,” and I was honored to serve as the keynote speaker and participate in several of the breakout sessions. My keynote, “Getting to the Left of Crisis: Creating a Positive Deviance in Mindset,” focused on how we can be more deliberate and proactive in building the mindset, connections, and support systems that help people before they reach a point of crisis.
What made this event so meaningful was being surrounded by professionals and organizations from across Washington who are doing the work every day to support Veterans and their families. The conference brought together Veteran service providers, state agencies, and community partners to share ideas, strengthen relationships, and continue finding better ways to serve those who served.
I have tremendous respect for the people who dedicate themselves to this mission. It was inspiring to see so many committed professionals in one place, learning from one another and working toward the same goal of improving and transforming lives.
I am grateful to the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs and everyone involved in putting together such a meaningful event. It was an honor to contribute, learn alongside this incredible community, and spend time with so many awesome people doing yeoman’s work on behalf of our Veterans and their families.
Serving those who served is a responsibility we all share. Boom!
